Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel AhıshalıI was born in Istanbul in 1974. She graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1996. She completed Internal Medicine Residency at Taksim Training and Research Hospital in 1997 and then worked as an internal medicine specialist at the same hospital between 2001-2003. Between 2003-2006, she attended Gastroenterology Fellowship in Gastroenterohepatology Section of Internal Medicine Department, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University. She worked as a gastroenterologist between 2008-2017 in Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Education and Research Hospital. She received her Associate Professor title in May 2013. She was awarded Turkish Gastroenterological Society scholarship and she has worked at Advanced Endoscopy Section of Johns Hopkins University as an observer for 3 months in 2017. Dr Ahishali is a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology.
