Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Departments have become reference centers by means of their eminent practices
 in diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal & neurological disorders, sports injuries, chronic pain, pediatric functional and developmental disorders, postoperative rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, family training for home care program 
in collaboration with other disciplines.

The goal of our medical rehabilitation programs for persons experiencing physical disability as a result of injury, illness, or a developmental condition is to maximize functional independence over time by help of our rehabilitation team consisting of rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists), physiotherapists, occupational therapists, recreational therapists and massage therapists.

Our Rehabilitation Centers are fully equipped to serve for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders that produce temporary or permanent functional impairment with the highest service quality possible.

Specific exercise programs for maintaining and increasing range of motion, strengthening muscles, improving proprioception (awareness of joint position in space), muscle relaxation, and aerobic fitness, all in the context of improving function are applied.

Assistive and adaptive equipment including gait and mobility aids and other tools to allow greater independence, optimal safety, and decreased energy expenditure in activities of daily living (ADLs) are prescribed.

Selection and fitting of wheelchairs, appropriate seating, proper orthoses (e.g., upper and lower limbs, and back bracing) and prostheses to amputee patients are among the applications to our patients.

Our rehabilitation team coordinates biomedical and engineering and a wide range of other interventions with the goal of maximizing physical, psychological, social, and vocational potential of people with disability.
