Bariatric Surgery Preparation

SURGICAL PREPARATION

1.     ENDOCRINE DOCTOR EXAMINATION

BLOOD TESTS (at 08:00 a.m. with empty stomach)

  • Blood count
  • TSH, free T4
  • Sodium
  • Potassium
  • Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Folic acid, Iron, Ferritin, Iron binding capacity
  • Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL
  • Fasting blood sugar
  • Postprandial blood glucose 2 hours after the meal
  • HbA1C (If you are diagnosed with diabetes)
  • Oral glucose tolerance test (If you are not diagnosed with diabetes)
  • Insulin
  • Cortisol
  • Total protein, Albumin, AST, ALT
  • Creatinine, BUN
  • Urinalysis
  • Blood group test
  • Aptt, pt, INR
  • Hcv, AntiHIV, HbsAG, AntiHBs, HbclgM
  • Pregnancy test (For female)
  • These tests after 1 day or other day; will be taken 1 mg Dexametazone pill at 11:00 p.m. and the next morning at 08:00 a.m. with empty stomach will be checked  cortisol.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.     CARDIOLOGY DOCTOR EXAMINATION

·       Electrocardiography

·       Effort Electrocardiography (Over the age of 40 for man, post-menopausal women or people with cardiac disease in the family)

3.     LUNG DISEASES DOCTOR EXAMINATION

·       Pulmonary function test

·        Lung X-ray

4.     GYNECOLOGY DOCTOR EXAMINATION (For female)

·       Pop- Smear test

·       Mammography or breast ultrasonography

5.     ENDOSCOPY

6.     COLONOSCOPY (Over the age of 50 for everyone and people with colon canser in the family)

7.     ABDOMEN ULTRASONOGRAPHY

8.     PSYCHOLOGIST DOCTOR EXAMINATION

9.     DIETICIAN EXAMINATION

10.   ANESTHETIST EXAMINATION
