Prof. Fatma Nilgün Kapucuoğlu was born in 1964 in Istanbul. She graduated from TED Ankara College in 1982 and Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. She finished her residency at Ankara Oncology Hospital Pathology Laboratory in 1991. She worked as a consultant pathologist at Oncology Hospital Pathology laboratory between 1991 and 2000. She worked on on breast pathology and immunohistochemistry as a visiting fellow at Nottingham City Hospital Pathology Department for 4 months in 1994 and at Bologna University Bellaria Hospital Pathology Department for 6 months in 1995. She worked at Etlik Maternity Hospital between 2000-2002. She worked in Süleyman Demirel University between 2002 and 2013 and she was the head of the deparment of pathology between 2005 and 2013. She received her Associate Professor degree in Pathology in 2004 and Professor degree in 2010. Between 2013 and 2017 she worked at Acıbadem Health Group Hospitals. She has been working at Koç University Hospital since september 2017.
