Graduated from I.U. Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, She finished Neurology residency program at the Department of Neurology of I.U. Istanbul Medical Faculty, holding different positions including Professorship. In 1990-1991, She was tranined in neuromuscular diseases and muscle pathology by Prof. W. King Engel and Prof. V. Askanas of University of Southern California. Upon returning back to Country, She became Faculty of Neuromuscular division of Departmant of Neurology at I.U. Istanbul Medical Faculty and chaired the division at 3 different periods. She established muscle pathology in the Neuromuscular Disease Research Laboratory, actively performed muscle pathology evaluation and directed the laboratory until 2014, my retirement. She was in close contact with the patient support groups nationally and internationally. She Chaired European and World muscular societies. She is a member of World Muscle Society and Mediterranean Society of Myology. She retired in 2014 and performed work at Memorial Sisli Hospital between 2014 and 2017. She has been performing diagnostic and research studies in neuromuscular diseases and muscle pathology at Koç University Hospital since 2017.
