Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women.  Affected patients complain of irregular periods, cosmetic skin problems such as increased hair growth (hirsutism), acne, and polycystic appearing ovaries on ultrasound.  Obesity and/or insulin resistance is also encountered in 70% of the patients.  Our PCOS special program focuses on the needs and individualized treatments of patients affected with this distressing condition.  Treatment often requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves reproductive endocrinologists, fertility specialists and medical endocrinologists as well as obesity specialists, dermatologists and cardiologists.
